Writer, professor and musician Marcus Clayton joins us to talk about his latest book , Ponk! A book that explores themes of identity, trauma, immigration, racism through the lens of punk rock in South East LA. Marcus recently received a PhD from the University of Southern California’s program in Literature and Creative Writing. His focus was on the intersection between Latinx Literature, Black Literature, Decolonization, and Punk Rock. Marcus joins us to talk more about the book, incorporating music in writing, , playing with his band “tudors” and how nothing is that original.
